Need a job?  Are you looking for work but not sure where to start?  WE can help!  Learn how to look for jobs, how to write a great resume and cover letter and how to make a good first impression at interviews.  We offer 1-1 employment counselling as well as a variety of classes on topics mentioned above to help you reach your goals.

The GED is a high school equivalency diploma that can be used to apply to post secondary or for a job resume in the same way a high school diploma is listed.  It consists of 5 subjects that are tested separately.  Language Arts (writing), Social Studies, Science, Language Arts (reading) and mathematics.  Our 99 hour GED course will help prepare you for your GED exams and increase your chances of passing.   If you are interested in participating in this class contact us!

The Devon Public Library and CALP is pleased to welcome Bredin Centre for Career Advancement to our space the first Wednesday of the month.  These appointments are 1-1 with a Career Counselor from the Bredin Centre and are able to help with goal setting, job searching, resume writing, cover letters, interview skills and more.  Appointments fill up fast so book yours today!

If you are not able to come into the library or prefer to meet a career counsellor over zoom we have a  partnership with Bredin Career Advancement.  They  offer a variety of information sessions on resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, as well as 1-1 career coaching and job placement assistance.   Contact the library  for more information.

BGS Career Ventures offers a 48-Hour typing service.   The resume service is for people who have a resume and require an update to their current resume or have a time sensitive need to meet an application deadline.  Click the button below and complete the online template.  Submit the completed form.  BGS type and emails the resume back to you within 48 hours or two business days.

The Devon Public Library is host to a job board.  Looking for work?  Stop by during library hours and check it out! It is located on the north side of the building at the back by the Staff area and is updated weekly.
